This week we looked at an artist called Babara Kruger. She used the colours red, black and white to create eye catching posters about topics that she thought were very important.
In class we viewed her artwork and discussed what we thought she was trying to tell us. We also discussed catch phrases. We decided that a catchphrase was similar to a slogan. Sometimes it rhymed, and it was usually short and punchy.

Our task was to come up with a catchphrase for a photo about water that met the following WIN:
- Is thoughtful and meaningful
- Makes people stop and think
Our catch phrase could be a 'harsh truth', 'positive and uplifting' or 'entertaining'
Once we had our catchphrase we had to edit our photo and text to fit the style of 'Barbara Kruger.'
Miss Slater thinks that some of our catchphrases are quite controversial (that means that some people will agree, and some will disagree).
Read some of our catchphrases below (come into G4 to see more) and think about what the authors are trying to tell you about water.
The catchphrases really stand out!
